3 Free Traffic Methods To Boost Your Affiliate Income

There is a wrong belief online that you need to pay a huge amount of money to drive traffic to your squeeze pages and affiliate offers.

The truth is if you’re new or you do not have money to invest in traffic you can still make money online, there are many ways to drive traffic online but for me, these 3 are the best free traffic methods to boost your affiliate income in 2020.

3 Free Traffic Methods To Boost Your Affiliate Income

Before I go deep on these 3 free traffic methods I need to warn you about two things.

Firstly, free traffic methods take time and you will need to produce some kind of content for your audience, so produce content and be patient.

Secondly, pick one free traffic method and stick to it for at least 90 days, the main reason that people fail with free traffic is that they try too many methods at the same time and when they do not get results they got discouraged and quit.

So let look at the 3 best free traffic methods you can start today and boost your affiliate marketing business and income.

Facebook is huge for free and paid traffic, but today I am just going to explain how you can generate free traffic from Facebook.

Basically, there are two ways to generate free traffic from Facebook, using your own Facebook profile and creating a Facebook group.

Generating free traffic by just using your profile.

Generating traffic by using your profile is the simplest way to generate traffic from Facebook, you can do it in just two steps.

1) Create and optimize your Facebook profile

You can use your current Facebook account or you can create a new one just for your online business, this depends on you.

Once you create your account, you will need to make sure you use your real name and photo, this will increase the credibility, also make sure that you add all relevant links to your profile like links to your landing pages, blog, social media, etc.

2) Find big Facebook accounts in your niche and start interacting with their content, leave comments, likes and share their content, look to people who reply to your comments, and add them as friends ( some of them will add you first).

Some of these people will start coming to your Facebook profile to find more about you, and since you optimized your profile in the first part, some of them will click on the links on your page and subscribe to your squeeze pages and some of them will buy from you.

This method works very well even if you have zero experience, let them come to you, do not spam them, do not inbox them but if someone inbox you with a question reply to them and build some connections.

Youtube is going to be huge for 2021, I think I am going to concentrate on this method this year, the good of youtube is that you can start for free as long as you have a free Gmail account.

You do not need to have a lot of subscribers to make money will Youtube, you can make money even without any subscribers. As long as you get a few people to watch your video you will be ok.

How to make affiliate commissions from Youtube

You can make affiliate commissions from Youtube by following two simple steps.

In order to make affiliate commissions from Youtube, you need to have a Youtube channel, the great news is that if you have a Gmail account you have a Youtube channel already, Google creates one for you.

All you need to do is to log in and customize it a little bit and you are good to go, I am not going to explain everything on the Youtube channel creation in this post but if do you want to learn more you can click here.

Create videos and upload them on Youtube

The good thing about Youtube is that people use it as a search engine, so the only thing you need to do is to find words that people are searching on your niche and create a short video explaining the issue their searching and at the end of it ask people to click the link in the description to find more about the subject. ( you should always have a link in the description either to the affiliate offer, landing page, or squeeze page to collect emails.

For example, if you are in the weight loss niche you can create a short video explaining why the Keto diet is better than the carnivore diet.

If you’re not a diet expert you can do research and outline points why do you think one diet is better than the other.

The video will contain three parts, the introduction, the main part of the video, and the conclusion.

In the introduction, you just need to introduce yourself and what you’re going to talk about, for example, I could say Hi my name is Seki and in today’s video I am going to talk about why the keto diet is better than the carnivore diet, the introduction will take less than a minute, simple sweet and to the point.

The main part of the video is where you will go to each point to explain why one diet is better than the other and the conclusion you will give your opinion basically it is a summary of what you talked about, you will ask viewers to click in the link in the description to find more about the diet, you will ask them to subscribe, thank them and end the video.

When you upload the video on Youtube make sure you include your main keyword in the title, in the tags, and in the description.

If you have some kind of social medial following you can share it, if you do this for one month you should start seeing some results.

You can check out my new Youtube Channel here.

Tiktok is a new kid on the block, I have seen a lot of marketers do well with this method, it is a video platform but unlike Youtube, it works well with shorter video, I would say under 2 minutes.

If you have a smartphone you can literally download the app and start shooting videos of yourself giving some tips and then ask people to click on the link for more information.

You can literally shoot a short video about anything and upload it to Tiktok, this is a newer network most people do not use it yet it will be easier to go viral if you create good content.

I just created a brand new Tiktok account you can follow me here.

The Importance Of A Good Back Story

Recently I went through the one way funnel challenge, one of the things I learned there was the importance of the hook, story, offer in order to sell more products online.

The main idea of having a good back story is that more people can relate themself to you,  you need to be able to tell the story of you before you were successful.

You will gain more influence over your audience when you have a good back story. This is your personal story about how you started and how you got to where you are today.

Without a good back story, your audience will not warm to you as much and you will not get as much free traffic as you could from Facebook.

Use the Zero to Hero approach

Most people start their business from nothing so be sure to add a “zero to hero” element to your back story. You want to give your audience hope that they can do the same thing as you start from scratch.

We are not suggesting that you are dishonest in any way with your back story. But emphasizing that it was a real struggle for you to start with is something that most of your audience will resonate with.

Nobody launches a business and is successful overnight so tell people about your journey. What sacrifices did you have to make? Maybe you had very little money and had to be really resourceful to get your business idea off the ground?

Let’s use an example here. You are a successful online entrepreneur. It is something that you always dreamed of doing and you have finally made it. Now you can help others to do the same.

Many people have a dream of making it online. Think back to what you did to become successful. Did you try many different things before you found the one that was right for you? Many people try different online business models and are not successful so they will relate to this.

Perhaps you spent all of the money that you had on training courses and programs that promised to provide you the secrets of online success. Did any of these help you or were they just a waste of time? Again many people that dream of online success spend a lot of money on courses that do not really help them.

You were once a Nobody

Make it clear in your back story that you were once a “nobody” that had nothing. Through hard work and dedication, you were able to turn everything around and become successful. You want your audience to feel that they can do what you did.

Your audience is going to want to ask you questions about how you worked everything out and made a success of your online business. They will want to know if you had to make significant mindset changes to get where you are today for example.

You need to answer all of their questions in the form of content (written or video)  and the products and services that you offer. Once people know, like, and trust you they will be a lot more willing to check out your offers so make sure that you provide value in your content.

Be Consistent with your Back Story

You need to ensure that the story you tell to your prospects is the same as the one that you tell on your website, Facebook, and your other social profiles. If people are interested in you then they are definitely going to check you out. If they find inconsistent stories then you will lose their trust.

How to Build a Long Term Affiliate Marketing Business

The key secret of building a long term affiliate marketing business is to find the right products that you can recommend to your audience, in affiliate marketing the magic happens when you match the right product to the right audience.

The truth is that most affiliates will promote any product they find online with the aim of just making a quick back, this is not the right way to do it.

You need to find good affiliate products and if it is possible you will need to buy them and test them, this way you will be promoting something that you know will solve your audience’s problems.

The problem is, not all affiliate programs are created equal – and not all products are fit to build a long-term affiliate marketing business.

When picking affiliate products to promote for the long term you need to look for three things, let me break down what to look for when you’re searching for products of your own to promote in any niche.

#1: Look for Products with Recurring Commissions

Look at Netflix’s business model, they charge you around $10 per month, each and every month, that is the secret, you need to pay your bills each month, you need to get paid each month for the same service, it is that simple.

I know that promoting high ticket affiliate products will increase your profit. I know the feeling when you get paid $1000 from a single sale, that is amazing.

But the way to build a long-term affiliate marketing business is locking in those monthly, recurring commissions where you don’t need to continuously find new customers month in and month out.

In the make money online niche you can promote tools like Aweber and Clickfunnels and you will get paid monthly commissions every-time a member renews another month.

Since those are services that are needed to run a profitable online business most people will keep them, just make one sale, and get paid for many months to come.

While those commissions may be small, they compound over time like interest and can build into something sustainable versus a few flash-in-the-pan sales that are here today and gone tomorrow.

#2: Find affiliate products that complement each other

What does that mean?

Most affiliate marketers when they’re just getting started will find a few one-off products here and there that essentially do or teach the same thing.

Unfortunately, this means that you’re likely only to get one sale per subscriber.

However, if you find products that BUILD on one another then the same customer can purchase several products from you naturally, without having to sell them on this or that.

For example, If I have an audience that wants to build a successful blog, I will recommend them hosting, a domain name, WordPress theme, landing page builder, SEO course, even though are different products but they complement each other.

That means, one customer can buy ALL of their products and it not be redundant. You want the same thing in your business – find products that can complement each other in order to increase your customer’s AOV (Average Order Value).

#3: Find products with GREAT Customer Service

People miss this too often. They look at a product and judge it only if it sells well.

However, if you’re in this for the long-haul and you have selected products that hopefully your customers will renew, it’s imperative to find products that have a great retention rate so you can be sure your customers will stick around.

And the biggest factor of this I’ve seen is in the customer service category.

Make sure there’s a way for your customers to chat with the company’s rep 24/7 or quickly get a response when they’re sending an email.

In other words, treat your subscribers like clients – and you are the consultant advising on products you know, like, and trust.

Keep these three criteria in mind and you’re guaranteed to promote only the best possible products to grow your affiliate business long-term.

Barriers to Affiliate Marketing Success and How to Overcome Them

I know many people who want to start an online business but they hesitate, many of these people really want to succeed but they found barriers that keep them from starting an online business, here are the main barriers to affiliate marketing success and how to overcome them.

Fear and Intimidation
Many people I know will tell me that ”I am intimidated by the technology; I’m not a technical person”.

No one was born technical savvy, we all had to learn how to do it, you can learn it too, it is not that hard, you just need to put some effort into learning it, if you do not want to learn it you can pay someone to do I for you, sites like fiverr.com, elance.com and many other have 1000’s of people who will do anything for you will very low cost.

You do not have money to pay for it and you do not want to learn it, cool, find someone who can do it, make them your partner in business.

I need to know more before I start

This is another reason why most people stay on the fence and never get started with anything in life, they want to know everything before they get started.

Here is my advice, just start, make mistakes, try stuff, and adjust, don’t get stuck in the “I need one more course, one more book, etc.” trap.

Imagine you want to go upstairs and you have to walk 100 stairs, you do not need to be able to see all of them in order to start going up, you just need to know in which stair you’re at and the next one, the rest does not matter, this is the same when it comes to affiliate marketing.

Just take one step at a time and you will be ok.

I don’t have enough time to do this

When I talk to my friends about starting affiliate marketing most of them will tell me that they do not have time, some of them because of the job, some of the kids, church, etc.

I am not going to tell you to quit your job while you are making $0 per day ( that is just stupid), or leave your kids unattended, I know those things are a must, here is my recommendation.

Start by doing small every day, you can start a youtube channel and dedicate two hours of each and every day, in one hour you can record a 3 to 5 minutes video, edit it and upload to Youtube.

You can free up your time by eliminating time-wasters like watching tv or Netflix, watching cat videos on youtube, or by getting up earlier than usual and do everything you need to get done before starting your normal daily job schedule.

For me, I used to work after finishing my 9 to 5 job, after that I will write emails, send traffic to my squeeze pages till late at night, after some time I started to see an improvement in traffic, subscribers, and income.

Final words

So those are the main barriers to affiliate marketing success and also I showed you how to overcome them. Which of those barriers stopped you from starting an affiliate marketing business or becoming successful in one? Let me know in the comment section below.

How To Improve Your Affiliate Sales Conversion

Making money online is all about converting visitors into buyers, most people will tell you that you need to get more traffic in order to make more money, that is valid, but there is another way to make more money without driving more traffic.

Another factor to consider in affiliate marketing is your affiliate sales conversion, this means how many people who click the link actually end up buying the product.

Let say that you send 100 people to an affiliate offer and 5 people end up buying the product, if do you want to double your income you will need to send 200 people to that offer, but if you could apply the strategies I share with you in this post, you can send the same 100 people to the same offer and 10 people will buy, this is that powerful.

How To Improve Your Affiliate Sales Conversion

How to improve your affiliate sales conversion in 6 steps.

Step 1: Be congruent

The first thing you need to do is to offer relevant content to the right people. These are people who have certain problems. The content that you must present must address those problems. This way, people who have a certain problem and are looking for solutions will be drawn to your content that dwells on those problems.

If you promote a weight loss offer, you need to share more content about different tips and methods to lose weight, you will attract people who want to lose weight, and when you offer them a product they will end up buying it and thanking you for it.

Step 2: Offer valuable information

After making sure that you are congruent with your content, you need to make sure that content is valuable, it needs to be information that people can actually use it and get results.

When people go to your social media page or a blog, make sure you give them what they came for. They obviously have problems, so give them the solution to that.

It doesn’t get any simpler than that. However, keep in mind that there is a big difference between conventional wisdom and tried and proven solutions. You are going to use both. But you are going to tease them so as to get them to buy whatever it is you are promoting.

Step 3: Shoot down alternatives and position your offer as better.

This is massive for your online success. You are going to provide valuable information. If people have a problem, you are going to give them the solution to their problem.

You are not going to play around. You are going to offer real value. Here’s the trick. You are going to give the information, but you are also to tease them and tell them that if they are looking for something faster, more convenient, cheaper, or more powerful, click here.

This way, they got what they came for but you also opened their minds to something better. That’s marketing. Because otherwise, you are just being a reporter.

You are just basically giving them the stuff that they came for without getting anything in return. You are not going to make money as an affiliate if you do that.

You have to shoot down the common solutions to the problem that you are offering.  Then, position your offer as something better.

Step 4: Build credibility through supporting content

It’s not enough for you to say that I have a better way of doing things. You have to walk your talk. You have to present some case studies.

You have to show some video or infographic diagrams to prove to the reader that you know what you are talking about. This builds credibility because the more credible your solution becomes, the more likely people would buy it.

Step 5: Filter interests using deep content

With each supporting piece of content that you link to your website, you are drawing the prospect deeper and deeper into the conversion funnel.

You have to understand that there’s going to be a lot of people reading your stuff.  But at the end of the process, only a very few will read article after article until they reach a sales page.

Those are the people that you are trying to reach.  Those are the people that you are trying to convert. You do this by making sure that each link that they go to leads to credible information with a lot of supporting content.

Also, the deeper they get into your website, the more finely tuned the content is as far as their interests are concerned.

You’re always making an appeal to this solution. You’re constantly reminding them that whatever it is that you are offering, it is far superior to the other generic information you have shared in previous pages.

Step 6: Call your reader to action using emotional hooks

Eventually, you should lead your reader deep into the bowels of your blog or website and hit them hard How do you do this? You present content that has a lot of hard-hitting supporting information.

You then call your reader to action by drawing a link between their purchase of the solution and the emotional payoff or the benefits that they personally get from the product.

You have to stir people through these six steps otherwise it is going to be very hard to get that affiliate conversion. You cannot skip a step.

That is it, this is how you can improve your affiliate sales conversion in 6 steps, I use these steps every day and I am seeing results.

How To Promote Affiliate Products

I get this question very often, how to promote affiliate products to make money online? so in this post, I am going to share with you places you can promote affiliate products.

How To Promote Affiliate Products

On your website

If you are serious about making money online, you most likely have a website already. This is a great starting point to promote affiliate products with a banner or fresh content about your niche and begin to drive traffic our way.

Blogging is one of my favorite ways to promote affiliate offers. I have seen time and time again, blogging is one of the most effective ways to start generating affiliate income.

You can create reviews, comparison blog posts, or educational content in your niche and you can include links that will send your readers to your affiliate offers.

For example, you can create a blog post about the 10 best running shoes and in each shoe brand, you can include your link so that the readers can check them out and if they buy you make some money.

To your email list

Having your own email list is the best way to build a long term online business, if you do not have one, you need to start today.

You can send emails educating your subscribers about issues and problems in your niche, you can send them to your blog posts, and each time when you recommend a solution to a certain problem you can use your affiliate link and if they buy, you guessed it right, you will make money.

Using video content

You can create a Youtube channel and create a niche related content. You can create educational videos for your visitors on different topics in your niche again inside the video you can advise your viewers to check out a certain product if it can help them to solve their current issues.

Do you want to know more about making money on Youtube, check this out: https://covertincome.com/youtubecommissions

Creating a course

If you have some knowledge and experience in your niche and you feel comfortable sharing your knowledge, you can make a good income by teaching others.

You can create a simple course and in it, you can recommend other people products using your affiliate links, this way you will be making money twice, first by selling people your course and then recommending people to other products through your affiliate link and make some affiliate commission.

For example, you can create a course about programming and teach people how to develop a program and during the course, you can recommend some books from Amazon so that your students can get more information and at the same time if they buy those books you will get paid.

You can sell your course and host it on  Udemy, on your own website, on teachable.com, the options are endless.

Direct recommendation

I used this method a lot, if I have a friend who is looking to buy something online, I will recommend the product and then send them my affiliate link.

I have done this by sending people to my hosting link, amazon links, and even Clickbank products, all you need to do is if people you know are looking to buy a service or a product, and they mention it to you, give them an honest opinion on which product is the best and send them your link.

Since those people know and trust you, your conversion ratio will be high and you will make many sales this way and you can use the money you generate to invest more in your business.

So those are 6 ways you can use to promote affiliate products and make money online in the process, so how many of these ways have you tried, let me know in the comment section below.

How To Have Affiliate Marketing Success As A Blogger

When promoting an affiliate offer, there are many small tips and strategies that you will want to keep in mind so that you can be successful. In this post, I am going to share with you various tips that can take you to affiliate marketing success.

Become an expert.

To build trust with your audience, you should know as much as possible about the product you are promoting. Too many affiliate marketers end up failing because they don’t realize that they need to know the product in order to promote it.

Knowing the product will help you promote the product better, explain it to your audience better, and you will be able to share your personal experience with the product – which are all things that you must-do if you want to successfully promote an affiliate product to your audience.

Focus on just a few affiliate programs.

Being too scattered can actually cause you to lose out on income. Due to this, I recommend starting out with 1 main affiliate program and maybe 2 or three other affiliate programs that complement the main program.

For example, if you are promoting a hosting service, you can compliment your customers by recommending them an autoresponder to build their list, a domain registrar for their domain.

Later on, you can determine whether or not you are overwhelmed, and if not, you can add more affiliate programs and products.

Inform your audience about sales.

Companies have sales all the time, and this can be a great way to let your followers know about a deal while also promoting an affiliate link. Plus, people love a good sale, so this can create a sense of urgency so that they want to sign up!

You could include sale information in a roundup blog post, on social media, in an email blast announcing the sale, and more.

Add more affiliate links.

In all of my posts, I try to include at least one affiliate link, or I link to a post of mine that already has an affiliate link in it (such as an affiliate review or tutorial).

Include affiliate links in three main places.

When you are talking specifically about an affiliate product in a blog post (such as a review, tutorial, interview, etc.), you should include a link to that product in at least three specific places throughout your content.

I recommend placing an affiliate link in the beginning to introduce the product, one somewhere in the middle of your content, and another at the end in your call to action.

This way, your reader is able to easily spot your affiliate link.

Don’t go overboard.

There is no need to include an affiliate link 1,000 times per blog post. Include them at the beginning, middle, and end of your post, and readers will notice it. And, remember, balance is needed for successful affiliate marketing.

Not every single blog post should be an affiliate review unless your website is solely for product reviews. You will still want to keep your regular publishing schedule because that is what attracted your audience in the first place.

Add affiliate links to inexpensive products.

Many people skip over promoting inexpensive or even free affiliate products. However, you shouldn’t neglect the inexpensive products!

Even the most inexpensive product may be something that your reader wants to buy. Plus, if they end up buying other things on a website, you may receive sales for those as well.

Just think about it: You may link to a $5 product on Amazon, but then that person may end up ordering many other items as well, and you get credit for all of them as long as they purchase everything within a certain timeframe.

I know someone who does this regularly and they have a great success story. One time they linked to something small on Amazon (I believe it was a pair of scissors), and a reader ended up buying home decor for a bunch of homes that they were decorating, which ended up being tens of thousands of dollars. This blogger then received affiliate commissions for all of these products, even though it all started with something small.

Here’s an example of what I often do: For some of the digital products I promote (such as online courses, ebooks, etc.), the owner of the product will sometimes have an affiliate link for a freebie for their product (such as a video tutorial for something related where they have to sign up just using their email address).

I almost always make that my main affiliate link for an affiliate product if I can, as that way my sales are still tracked afterward, but the owner of the product is doing the hard selling.

You can see an example of this in my affiliate interview How To Work From Home Selling On Amazon FBA. Instead of linking to a product that a reader can buy, I link to a freebie which then allows the product owner (a true expert of the product) to promote their products to the reader instead.

By introducing a freebie to my reader, they can learn more about the product and the company owner, and get a feel for whether or not they are truly interested. I’ve found that this converts fairly well and it’s a win-win for everyone!

Look at your statistics.

There is no exact formula for what will work with your audience. Due to this, you may have some trial and error.

But, that’s completely okay!

A way to know if something is working or not is to look at your Google Analytics and see what’s popular and what is not. Luckily, Google Analytics makes it quite easy to look at the traffic a specific affiliate blog post has received.

If something doesn’t seem to be gaining traffic, then you may want to try something different with it. Or, perhaps, you just need to promote it more on social media!

Share how the product has impacted you.

Showing your audience how a particular product has positively impacted your life can be a great way to introduce your reader to a product.

For example, I publish monthly income reports that show how much I am earning through blogging. This means I am able to also effectively promote blogging-related affiliate products, such as web hosting, my favorite blogging tools, and more.

Sharing my experience helps to show others that I am an expert, and it shows why my audience needs the product if they want to follow the same path.

This is definitely something that readers want to see before they purchase a product, as they want to hear real-life stories and know how the product may impact them as well.

So, whether a particular book, a trip of a lifetime, an organizational tool, a money-saving service, or something else has positively impacted your life, you should share your experience with your audience!

Add affiliate links to your images.

People like to click on images. Whenever you add an affiliate product’s image to an article, be sure to add your affiliate link to it.

This can be an easy way to give your readers another way to click on your affiliate link. Remember, all affiliate links must be non followed, so this applies to images that have an affiliate link as well!

Final words

That is it, those are some tips that will lead you to affiliate marketing success as a blogger. By applying the tips above, you are sure to rock at affiliate marketing!

Affiliate Marketing – How Long Before You Can Make Money?

If you’re thinking of going into affiliate marketing, you’re probably wondering how long it will take before you can make money.

After all, there’s so much hype about how much money you can make online, you’re probably a bit overexcited about having your piece of the internet affiliate marketing pie.

If you ask me, you can make your first sale within a month of working on the Internet. Personally, it took me three months to get my first sale, you can be quicker or slower, there are many factors to consider.

So, as far as the first sale goes, it is easy. However, building a full-time income on the Internet takes time and money.

And so, we would like to say that if you’re going to do affiliate marketing, set your sight on building a full-time income from the Internet, not just your first sale because, really, within the field of possibilities, it is one of the easiest things to accomplish. There are several tools you need to have though:

1. Knowledge of the consumer buying cycle

The proven and tested consumer buying cycle is your best friend when it comes to Internet Marketing, especially when you use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as your marketing method.

The buying cycle indicates that people first become aware of a product, consider it, and then buy it. It is in the purchase stage – when people are ready to buy ? that you make money. If your method is SEO, you can simply target keywords where people are ready to swipe their credit cards.

If you’re not sure what SEO is, it is simply the method of getting your websites ranked on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other search engines for certain keywords.

2. Mastery of a marketing method

SEO is not the only method for marketing things online. There are other methods too, like advertising on ad networks and Facebook, or social media marketing.

Any of the methods mentioned above can make you a lot of money. However, we like to say that you don’t get from zero to thousands of dollars by spreading yourself thin and trying out different methods at once. You only have eight hours to work on any given day, unless if you’re willing to be tied to a chair before your computer.

Make good use of your time by studying only one method and disciplining yourself to get to the point where you master it. You’ll know when you’ve mastered a method when you consistently make sales in any given month.

3. Persistence

Mistakes and failures here and there are parts of the learning process. So, when you do commit big mistakes that cost you money, avoid them next time, but keep on learning and applying what you learned until you’ve reached your income goal.

In all, affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme where you simply sit back and relax. It doesn’t take hard work but it does take some amount of work to make a full-time income online.

Affiliate Disclosures and Why You Need One

There is no rule that requires you to issue affiliate disclosures. However, you should have one if you are a professional affiliate marketer who plans to succeed in the affiliate marketing and networking niche.

Affiliate disclosures are a short statement declaring that the review, report, or opinion published on a webpage or website is authored by someone who is an affiliate and gets paid a commission on sales, subscriptions, or signups that result out of redirected traffic or visitors.

You may wonder if that will be detrimental to your sheer existence as an affiliate marketer. Here are the reasons why you need affiliate disclosures.

People are not stupid

The world is a much more open and free place today than it was ever in recorded history. Information is not censored. Everyone has access to every bit of information that is available in all public domains.

Even the governments around the world cannot hold onto their secrets, classified information that is apparently protected by people, state of the art security systems, and legal provisions charging the leakers with sedition, treason, and even waging war against the nation.

In such a world, it is akin to blasphemy if you believe that unsuspecting internet users are not aware of people writing reviews to generate traffic and to redirect visitors to products or services sales pages and earning a commission.

Many people might not be aware of how exactly affiliate marketing works. But paid news and paid reviews is not an invention of the post-social media era. People know such practices exist.

It increases trust

Having affiliate disclosures will make you appear upright and truthful. People will appreciate the fact that you are not concealing your reality of being an affiliate marketer.

This will help you to make your point without being judged wrongly. For instance, positive reviews often get trashed as paid articles, and hence people don’t even consider clicking on affiliate links.

Disclosures will instill a sense of frankness up front and people will read the review for what it is. There will be some who would suspect the authenticity of the review after reading the disclosure but it becomes too obvious so people give the benefit of doubt to the review since the declaration is already in place.

It shows authority

Finally, affiliate disclosures establish a reviewer as an authority in the niche. Affiliate marketers don’t write about anything and everything. They do have their niches.

Authority leads to reviews being taken seriously. People realize that affiliate marketers are aware of other products and services in the same category since it is such knowledge and application of the knowledge that helps them to earn money.
